Essay:
As one who attends a church with great music it is easy to understand what Dr. Parker was saying. The ability churches have to produce music that provokes emotion and stirs the soul is something that is sacred and should be treasured. Every Sunday when I step into the sanctuary of my church I am so thankful to be able to worship God with amazing musicians and very talented vocalists. When I am worshipping God through the music provided at Northland I feel God’s presence around me. Having visited many churches in the area, I can testify to the work God has done in the music at churches and can tell you first hand that the worship has never been better than it is at this point in time. I feel honored to be able to praise God through the wonderful music provided at my church.
Someone once said, “Music is what feelings sound like.”
Music has the great ability to stir emotion and provoke feelings inside a persons innermost being. When I listen to song being sung by the “worship team” at church I am often led to tears or a great sense of joy.
The Christian church’s ability to produce great music is a testament to God’s unending love and creativity towards his people. I consider song and worship one of the greatest blessings God has given to me. The fact that God would allow me to praise his name through music is astonishing to me and I am so grateful to be able to give honor to his name. When I am singing songs to God during church I feel his presence around me and treasure that time when my spirit is fully encompassed by his love. The Christian churches great music has been a blessing in my life and is something I will always be grateful to God for.
