Essay:
Who is greater than our God? Who is more wonderful, and glorious, and loving than our Lord? The Grace of God is much more than our earthly minds could ever understand, but Dr. Parker’s quote inspired me, it took root inside of me. In our world today, nothing is ever free, so sometimes it can be hard for us to understand that God offers us His grace, and redemption with “no strings attached.” It was Jesus who showed me the way, who saved me. He rescued me before I realized I was even falling. That He would love me, after all the things I have done to disappoint Him, after all the sins I have committed, is amazing. In junior high, I fell away from God. I decided I did not need church, and that I wanted to take charge of my own life. I made some friends who did not believe in, and wanted nothing to do with Jesus. I become one of the world, and was more concerned with my physical appearance and finding a boyfriend than I was with my spiritual life. I was lost, and did not even notice. God kept me safe, and from making decisions I would regret. By the time I started senior high school, I missed Him deeply, and resumed attending church, and living for Him. I look back, and I see how much I have grown spiritually. My desire is for nothing more than to serve Him. God has done so many awesome things in my life, which I would never have received if I would have continued living life for only myself. The Lord deserves all praise, and so much more! Who was I that He saved me from myself? That He would protect my from the world I left Him for? Who am I that He would rescue me, without expecting anything in return? Our God is loving and merciful, there is NO one like Him. Amazing Grace is right. I never knew peace until I knew Jesus. He is my personal Saviour, and I look forward to falling more in love with Him everyday. If you have never heard of, or felt the love of Jesus, I pray that He would invade your life. I have given my life to follow Jesus, and I look forward to studying and working under His Word. He has taught me the importance of love, encouragement, and compassion. I will follow Him wherever He leads me, traveling around the world to spread the Good News if it is His will. People need the Lord, and I have tasted His love, how then can I keep quiet? I want to shout it from the mountaintops. I have felt Him guiding me to become a teacher, and to use the spiritual gifts He was given me. I know that He will use me to do great and marvelous things, and I simply can not wait. God has a plan and a purpose for my life (Jeremiah 29:11), and I am learning to trust Him completely, even when the road is rough. God is knocking at the door of your heart, offering His grace. Have you answered the call? Are you ready to? Throw open the door and receive Him with open arms. Praise the Lord of Grace, may He bless you and keep you all the days of your life.
