Essay:
God definitely has the ultimate power of opening and closing doors for all of us. It was 7 years ago when my teenage dreams suddenly became reality. I had always dreamed of coming to the United States - the land where your dreams come true. Coincidently, it all started with seeing an ad in the newspaper. I can still remember the ad with its big fonts: “Pick your family. Be an Au-Pair in the USA”. At this junction, all the other doors were closed to me. I was not able to find a job. I always believed that every action has a reason behind it whether we like it or not. Dr. Parker once said “God is the opener and closer of life's doors”. As one door was closed another door was opening. Although it was hard for me to see the light back then, I decided to take my chance and apply for a Visa to be an Au-Pair in the United States. One of the tough steps was to secure a USA Visa. The USA consulate only gives Visas to about 10 people out of the 100 people that apply daily. I prayed to God if it is a good opportunity for me to please help me and open my path. As I was waiting for my turn another girl who wants to be an Au-pair as well went up to the window. The agent she was speaking to was bombarding her with questions and finally said no to her because of her lack of English. I thought her English sounded better than mine. While my hopes were going down, my turn came. Luckily I interviewed with a very nice person and she gave me the Visa! That was my faith. Recently I applied to several Graduate schools for the MBA Program. I prayed to God again; please help me to join to the school if it is going to be good for me and others I care about. Fortunately, even though I scored under average on the GMAT, I got accepted to the George Washington University. Believing in God with a good heart will always lead you the right way.
